Our first "Auction of Promises":
Over 70 lots were auctioned on Friday 16th June at the PTFA's first "Auction of Promises". Fabulous food and wine was enjoyed by those able to attend the auction room itself, with Mrs Leach taking the bids and bringing the hammer down each time!
An amazing range of "promises" was donated by the school community and others in and around Exeter, leading to the event raising over £1500. Fantastic! Here are a selection of photos.
New seating planters:
Have you seen our fabulous new seating benches/planters outside of the year 5 and 6 classrooms? The children are already loving the improvements to their outside areas.
Just some of our recent events and where the money has been spent!
Who are we and what do we do?
The PTFA is the “Parents, Teachers and Friends Association”. We are a group of parents, grandparents, staff (teaching and non teaching) and friends of the school who organise social and fund raising events throughout the year to rise money to directly aid the pupils of the school. Last year these included:
Christmas Cards - designed by the children
Christmas Shopping Evening
Christmas Chocolate Bingo
Christmas Carol Singing and woodland bonfire
Easter Beetle Drive
Summer Fete @ Summer Spectacular
"Tags in 2" sponsored event
In addition, the PTFA makes an important contribution to the social life of the school by providing refreshments for school events, organising family bingo and community events such as the Christmas Shopping Evening. We also hold one major fund raising event each year, a Summer Fete (as part of the Summer Spectacular).
All parents, teachers and friends of the school are, by definition, members of our PTFA, although the association is organised by committee, which is voted in at the AGM (Annual General Meeting) each year.
